Mahatma Gandhi served as a role model, especially to the Indian population. As a transformational leader, Mahatma was able to show his followers his determination and persistence.

Mahatma was able to create an idealized influence through various actions. For instance, he inspired and led Indians in peaceful protests against the Salt Act in Dandi. Mahatma knelt and picked a block of natural salt from the shore. This action was symbolic and violated the law of the British. Numerous individuals in India joined the violent free act of civil disobedience, leading to thousands of arrests. Gandhi was among those detained and later released to participate in negotiations expected to end the protests (Panigrahi, 2018). In the global arena, Mahatma is recognized for his peaceful approach to issues that may spark violence.
Gandhi successfully inspired and motivated his followers and maintained this hold even after his death. Today, Gandhi’s legacy continues, which is a sign that his followers still cherish the values that Mahatma held dear. Mahatma envisioned the Satyagraha to be used during political upheavals and as a global resolution to harm and unjust actions. The concept provided a series of principles that leaders and citizens around the world could use through fasts, work cessation, violent free civil disobedience, and strikes. Mahatma recommended the use of Ahimsa (non-violence) as a means to find the truth (Panigrahi, 2018).
Gandhi demonstrated a genuine concern for the masses. His easy attachment to others and comprehension of issues that affected them enabled him to pull the crowd. It was possible to generate trust, which led to change. This characteristic enabled Gandhi to introduce a change into Indian society, which was controlled by numerous myths and superstitions that upheld poverty and economic, political, and other social problems. Finally, Gandhi was able to challenge his followers to not only propel his vision but also understand the risks that existed. For instance, he successfully led the ‘Buy Indian’ campaign to adopt the Khadi, a homespun cloth (Panigrahi, 2018).

- How do they challenge others to be innovative and creative?
