Legal Issues of an Advanced Practice Nurse in The Workplace – Employer and Employee Rights

Employer and employee rights are the topics that have impacted my role as an advanced practice nurse. Being aware of all the legal implications related to my nursing role is quite important. As a registered nurse, I largely participate in promoting and restoring health, prevention of illness and protection of the people who have entrusted their care to me (Thomas, Rothschild & Donegan, 2015). As a nurse, I also work to relieve the suffering the communities, groups, families, and individuals people go through. In doing so, employer and employee and employee rights of the nurses encourage the maintenance of respect for respect of human pride and embrace the exclusivity of all the patients and the nature of their health problems without constraint with respect to economic and social status. To maximize the contributions nurses have to society, it is essential to protect the autonomy and dignity of nurses at their places of work. Nonetheless, all the rights of the nurses should be adhered to (Atkinson et al., 2016).

Most employers tend only to concentrate on their rights but do not recognize the rights of their employees. Nurses have a right to practice in a manner which accomplishes their responsibilities to society and to those who usually receive their nursing care. By learning employer and employee rights, I will also be able to practice my profession in an environment which permits me to act in harmony with skilled morals and lawfully approved practice scope. I have also learned that I have a right to work in an environment which is supports and possibly expedites ethical practice in accordance with the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive. Statements. Lastly, nurses have the right to negotiate the conditions of their employment, either collectively or as individuals, in every practice setting (John, Knyazeva & Knyazeva, 2015).
