Internal and External Methods for The Dissemination of Evidence-Based Change – Nursing Shortage

The internal method for dissemination of the evidence-based change proposal is the management board in various healthcare facilities. The management board is chosen because it oversees the daily operations of the healthcare facility (Mannion et al., 2017). Presentation of the evidence-based change to the board will enable the board members to evaluate the state of their facility based on the proposal. Evaluating the facility can help identify the extent of the problem and embrace the recommendations for curbing it. Furthermore, board members can easily interact with nurses in the healthcare facility and determine the extent of the problem.

The external method for dissemination of the evidence-based proposal is through various professional nursing organizations. Nursing organizations cater to the needs of various nurses based on their specializations (Halstead, 2018). These organizations are key because they represent the nursing workforce, which is the target group of the change proposal. Presentation of the proposal to the organizations will prompt measures to be taken. These organizations are likely to engage all levels of authority to ensure that the proposed policies in the evidence-based proposal are implemented. Furthermore, the organizations have statistics on the number of the nursing workforce and the estimates of shortage. They are key in scrutinizing the change proposal and affirming its importance and viability.

It is important to report the change proposal to both groups. This will enable each group to perform an intensive evaluation of the proposal. Based on the outcomes, the two groups can work in concert to ensure that the proposal is implemented. When communicating to the management board, an overview of the proposal will be given. The focus will be on the effects of the nursing shortage. When communicating with the nursing organization, details of shortages in each specialization will be given. The proposed policies will also be communicated because organizations can directly engage all levels of authority.
