The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) states that all companies must provide equal employment opportunities to people despite their age, skin colour, religion, race, and background (EEOC, n.d.). Corrupt or incompetent persons in the human resource sector may go against EEOC guidelines by hiring unqualified personnel based on race, skin colour, or religion, which affects the overall success of the company. Business need

Coca Cola, just like any other multinational company, has employees and applicants from all over the world. This means that the company’s Human Resource (HR) team needs to be competent and trained to handle the different needs in a diverse work environment. A needs analysis would help the company’s HR team, which is responsible for recruitment and selection, to be more coherent and honest in their activities. Training would most likely help the HR personnel achieve integrity and honesty.

Judy Greenwald (2012) discusses a case where a Coca-Cola Unit was in court battling against discriminatory charges. Lisa Burden (2018) also analyses a case where the beverage company had to pay $2.25 million for a discriminatory charge. These reported cases show a pattern that suggests Coca-Cola had an employee discrimination issue. Applicants are not given equal treatment in the company, which ruins the company’s corporate image.

Training options

The focus of the training will be on the company’s HR personnel since they are responsible for the recruitment and selection of employees. In addition, the organization should establish laws and policies that guide recruitment and selection processes to avoid similar cases from happening and to maintain affirmative action.
