Effective Management Teams

Effective Management Teams

Two identified challenges of building an effective management team entail creating trust among team members and interpersonal conflict. The creation of trust among team members is a challenge because different team members lack mutual trust, which is the fundamental basis for team success (Karpenko et al., 2022). When managers lack trust among team members, it becomes difficult for them to coordinate various activities as communication and collaboration become difficult. Trust is built over time, and some managers find it hard to nurture the growth of trust among team members for a long time. Regarding the second aspect, managers find it challenging to deal with interpersonal conflicts among team members. According to Mehek (2020), personality clashes and differences in opinion are often cited as major hindrances to effective team building. Some managers opt to ignore these issues because they are sensitive. However, they end up with ineffective teams, proving how challenging they are to effective team management. I will look for the following set of skills in potential growth-focused managers. First, I will look for analytical ability. Potential growth-focused managers should be able to critically evaluate different scenarios and select the best alternatives (Alvarez Sainz et al., 2019). Second, I will look for good communication skills. Potential growth-focused managers should be able to communicate effectively through oral and written formats. Third, I will look for presentation skills. Notably, these skills are important in expressing points to employees. Managers who present their suggestions and requirements effectively make it easier for employees to understand and follow (Hess. 2011). Fourth, I will look for attention to detail skills because managers who are keen on matters around the organization resolve issues easily and effectively. Finally, I will look for organizational capacity skills, ensuring a manager can run the entire organization effectively without supervision.
