Discussion Response on Invisibility vs. Flying Superpowers
Hello,
Great post! You have demonstrated writing maturity because you were not only able to select your preferred superpower ability, being able to fly, but also managed to give clear, subjective reasons as to the purpose, assumptions, goals, and values that informed your decision. From a personal standpoint, I think both ends of the argument have interesting points. For example, as you mentioned, the ability to fly might be a good idea because it gives one unimaginable life-saving powers. Of course, who would not want to possess those superhero abilities to save that vulnerable child from the filthy hands of a pedophile? I would also love to have the power to fly across tall buildings like my movie superheroes Superman, the Ant-Man, Batman, and The Avengers to save accident patients. However, since you mentioned that you are anxious, I hope you are not acrophobic or scared of heights. This might not be a perfect choice for you. I also possess your strongest personal attributes: being charitable and willing to help others.
Although it was not your choice, I think invisibility can also be an interesting superpower for anyone to have. Think of the ability to sneak without being noticed into a room full of terrorists to eavesdrop on their clandestine plans, then inform the FBI of their next target! I cannot imagine how many bombings, mass shootings, nuclear wars, and biological wars would help me save. However, I think I might be tempted to use this invisibility power wrongly, and most people will also do that. For instance, like the Invisible Kid in the 1988 movie, I might be tempted to seek vengeance by spying on my enemies and retaliating the hard way. What are your sentiments about my take? I would love to hear what you have to take and whether your personality would allow you to do that. Otherwise, nice post!

Discussion Response
There is no correct answer here. Your response should be no less than 350 words and demonstrate critical thinking in how you reached your conclusion with specific support. This assignment is part of Saint Leo
University’s UE, and will be collected as part of a university-wide effort to study critical thinking. In essence, each student is peer-reviewing other students’ work. Through these assignments, you will encounter a variety of writing. Some of it will be good and some of it will need more work. Learn from those writings that are good; use consideration and thoughtfulness to help those who need more work.
Offer at least one positive and one constructive opinion to at least three students. To assure everyone’s material is read, once a student has three responses, please read someone else’s response. Feel free to read and respond to more than three students.
I have also included the initial discussion prompt for this discussion if needed to understand my classmate’s post.
