What Is Going Well
My case analysis competence has improved based on my experience conducting this week’s case analysis. One of the things that is going well is problem identification. I could easily identify the problem in this week’s case analysis and how it was resolved. I have also improved my interpretation of how the problems in the case impact the organization and the people responsible for the problem.
Challenges
One of the challenges I am facing is developing an introduction for the case study analysis. My assumption is that the introduction should provide background information about the case based on the identified issue and how it was resolved, but the same information is also included in the case analysis section. I am, therefore, confused about how to present the information in the case analysis section without repetition. Another challenge is selecting the best solution for the problem identified in the case because there are many applicable solutions that can effectively resolve the problem. According to Copeland (2014), identifying a solution to resolve a problem is an important part of the case study analysis process because it portrays a reader’s understanding of the case study. Therefore, I need to develop a criterion for distinguishing between key solutions and any other solution that may not be categorized as a major solution.
Additional Support or Resources
Case analysis competence can be improved with frequent practice (Fuertes et al., 2012). The main additional resource that I need to ensure that this week’s case analysis project is a success is samples of case study analysis completed by other students in this course to have an idea of the required format and the important points to consider. I also need feedback for my previous case study analysis to identify improvement areas.
Key Learnings
The case study analysis is founded on identifying the main problem in the case and how it affects the organization or an individual (Stake, 2013). One of the things I have learned is that information in the case introduction section can help identify the problem being discussed in the case and whether it was resolved. The second thing I have learned about case study analysis is that the reader should recommend an effective solution to resolve the identified problem.
