One of the cultural implications to consider when working with the LGBTQIA+ population in human services is internalized biases. Various stereotypes against the LGBTQIA+ population have created biases that may hinder the effective delivery of human services. Human services providers should be prepared to identify and deal with their implicit biases to eliminate healthcare disparities experienced by the LGBTQIA+ population (Morris et al., 2019). The second cultural implication is attitudinal barriers created by discrimination and stigma. Human services providers should keep attitudinal barriers in mind because they influence access to human services among the LGBTQIA+ population. They need to create an environment where individuals from the LGBTQIA+ population feel free to seek human services without fear of stigma and discrimination.

Essential cultural competencies when working with persons with disabilities in the human services field
One of the cultural implications to consider when working with people with disabilities is the assumption that people with disabilities are broken and should be fixed (Balva, 2022). This implication is essential. It is among the factors that create disparity in access to human services because some people with disability may be reluctant to seek human services to avoid being perceived as broken. The second cultural implication is the negative cultural beliefs linked to people with disabilities. Human services providers need to understand how cultural beliefs impact the willingness to seek human services and what they can do to encourage people with disabilities to seek human services.
Areas I would like to gain more information on the LGBTQIA+ population and persons with disabilities
I want to gain more information on the stereotypes that create disparity in access to human services among the LGBTQIA+ population. This information is essential in determining how the stereotypes could impact my service delivery and how I can deal with them without being influenced by my colleagues. I would also like to gain more information on the cultural beliefs that discourage people with disabilities from seeking human services to design the right approach to reach people with disabilities who need human services.
