Dear Mr. Garcia,

I saw your advertisement for a communication specialist position in the Evening Standard and immediately decided to apply. Sensitizing people about fire prevention and fire safety measures has been my lifelong passion: Cover Letter.

I recently completed a degree program in Journalism from Purdue University, which offers me extensive first-hand knowledge of effective communication during sensitization and crises. Over the years, I have acquired vital knowledge on how to deal with fires; hence, I will combine my journalistic experience with my fire safety awareness to communicate effectively.

Having been an intern at a smoke detector manufacturing company, Smoke Out Inc., I believe I have gathered sufficient experience to serve effectively as a communication specialist at your company. While at Smoke Out Inc., I performed critical functions relevant to communication, such as rewriting manuals into simple language that can be easily understood by non-experts.

I am also well-versed in internal communication since I used to communicate with employees through newsletters, announcements, and general updates regarding company policies. I was so good at what I did that I got recognition as the best employee at the company for several months.

Although I have gained most of my skills from research work and drafting multiple communiques, some of my best lessons have come from interacting with senior employees who have worked at the organization longer. I believe experienced employees are better educators because, apart from the good work they do for the organization, they have also made an equal share of mistakes from which I can learn.

My goal has always been to learn from such mistakes and combine them with my professional experience to do my work. I intend to carry on with this spirit if you consider me for the communication specialist role at the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI).

As a journalist, I work well with people, and I am a good problem solver. Apart from my journalistic and writing skills, I am also a good salesperson. I understand that convincing people and getting them to buy some ideas requires outstanding persuasion skills.

My persuasion skills will be critical even as I draft company documents and get employees and outside parties to align with your company’s objectives. Although there is still much to learn, I promise to offer a positive work ethic and outstanding enthusiasm.

I would be delighted to share more of my work with you. Please feel free to visit my online portfolio using this link to explore the projects I have been working on.

Sincerely

Roosevelt Bryant
