Comprehensive Assessment of Chloe- Biopsychosocial-Spiritual Dimensions and Mid-Life Considerations

This is a psychological test that I have completed on Chloe. This assessment was carried out with the sole purpose of reflecting on the progress Chloe has made since she came from being homeless and started working on her drug use issues. It also aimed to identify the current risks and protective factors that have an influence on her current achievement. Besides these purposes, this assessment must not be interpreted or used for any other purpose.

This assessment was completed and interpreted based on the norms provided in the:

Biopsychosocial-Spiritual Model which explores the interconnection between biology, psychology, and socio-environmental factors in shaping health, behaviors, and spirituality (Saad & de Medeiros, 2021).

Systems theory which explains the interactions of processes and elements within a system and how they influence each other over time for the continuity of the whole system (Kern et al., 2020). This model viewed the past and present state of Chloe as a result of the underlying interactions she made within her social environment.

Chloe is a 45-year-old lady. She has lived most of her life homeless. Chloe does not have much of a family except for her friend Paige, who she has lived out in the streets. She did not grow up in a family, so her psychological, social, and spiritual development is still poor. She has trust issues and has some issues with accepting the realness of the support systems that her available to her.

From the interview and observation results, Chloe has presented herself as a person who is willing to fully reclaim her life. She is proving to be open to learning and overcoming her drug issues. She is committed to following through with the current interventions, abiding by the current social work systems available to her, and willingly making observable changes. She has the energy and drive to reclaim her life and is resourceful to her friends as well.

Chloe has shown a lot of resilience. However, she has some regrets she has yet to solve. She regrets her past love life and her childhood, and she even regrets her past history of drug usage and past overdose episodes. However, she does not express any suicidal ideation either in her past or current life. However, her drug overdoses in the past due to loneliness and feelings of being lost incline her towards self-harm. However, she is currently happy she is turning 45 with enough family support, which decreases the risks of self-harm. However, further assessments are required on any history of self-harming behavior to fully establish and identify any triggers that can arouse such behaviors.

Chloe has a lot of social support and protection. She has her brother, his wife, their kids, and currently Nancy, as well as the nurses and people at the case management center. However, her current relationship with Paige is a risk factor that might lead to her falling back to her old days. The relationship will either need to be discouraged in a manner that does not harm her or encourage Paige to join her in the case management center and other reclamation services. Her wish to meet with her son also needs to be considered, as it may improve her sense of life.

A first-time psychological interview and assessment with Chloe will consider the following:

Her childhood experiences

Her relationships with family and friends,

Her education and religious backgrounds

Her experience as a homeless person

Her sense of self-identity

Her self-perception

Her openness to new experiences

Her resilience
