Additionally, convenience and efficiency are enhanced through the organizers tracking the number of people purchasing the tickets and evaluating in advance whether the facility will handle their number (Giannoulakis, 2019). Another way that technology enhances facility and event management is through the provision of virtual event attendance. Technological advancements allow virtual reality through which event attendants can virtually interact with the event facility and test their sitting places before deciding to attend. As a result, only individuals comfortable with the facility attend the event, making it easier for the event organizers.

Another notable change in sporting activities occasioned by technological advancement is the better production and management of events. Technology makes it easier for event organizers to undertake stage management, a critical function entailing planning and execution. Through technology, event organizers can seamlessly manage technical stage aspects such as rigging, visuals, sounds, and lighting. Event organizers can develop customized styles and themes for their events using the various multimedia possibilities fronted by technology. For example, organizers can effectively communicate with audiences using a tailored approach by using LED walls.

Another possibility occasioned by technology in modern event management entails live streaming possibilities. Changes in technology and major social media pages such as Instagram and Facebook offer live streaming properties through which event organizers can reach more audiences. One notable feature regarding these aspects is the cost at which they come, which is relatively low, enabling event organizers to reach as many people as possible. Finally, changes in technology have made it easier for event organizers to collect and analyze consumer data. Notably, this is possible because, through social media platforms, many people have put their lives and what they like in public, which makes it possible for event organizers to tailor events regarding venue, cost, and time.

There are various ways through which new technologies can be utilized to improve the experience of consumers at events. One way entails integrating the event with social media. Notably, this is so because most people use social media platforms regularly. As a result, event organizers should create hashtags across social media platforms regarding the events they are promoting, making people understand more about the planned events. However, event organizers should integrate social media carefully because the same social media platforms can be used to reduce the success of the planned event. Thus, social media should be incorporated so that no confusion or opposition is presented to most people’s views. In addition, event organizers should embrace the use of mobile devices within the planned events. In the modern era of the technological revolution, people prefer a safe environment for using their mobile devices to record events or even take pictures. For instance, consumer event organizers should ensure there is free Wi-Fi internet at their events to enhance the user experience for attendees.

Event organizers can improve the experience of consumers at events by using technology to collect and analyze data relating to consumer behavior. According to Saeidi et al. (2019), this is done by integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies which collect consumer information and conduct accurate analysis to ensure a better consumer experience. For instance, event organizers can utilize such technologies to personalize the consumer experience. As a result, event planners ensure offers in the planned event, marketing, and experience drivers based on personal aspects instead of segment characteristics.

Using the new technologies, consumer experience at events can be improved by engaging consumers at the planning stage. Some technologies enable event planners to co-create events with consumers. The tools ensure that customer engagement is at a high level. It is worth noting that when customer engagement is high, their experience is improved dramatically. Finally, new technologies help improve consumer experience at events by ensuring services are available 24/7 and offering efficient customer care services. For instance, event organizers can ensure self-service customer service is availed through new technology to offer consumers the convenience of addressing their issues without interacting with others. Overall, using technology helps resolve challenges that sports organizations face in terms of facility and event management. The discussion above highlights the types of changes that have occurred due to technological advancements and ways through which new technologies enhance consumer experience at events.
