- A further 20% of the grant will go toward technological advancement. The police will use the portion of the budget to purchase technological devices such as body cameras to bolster accountability within the police department. Also, part of the technology budget will finance subscriptions to software to analyze data and identify crime-infested areas. The move will bolster police efficiency since they will allocate resources to where they are needed most (Jannetta & Lachman, 2011).
- Finally, 10% of the funds will go toward youth mentorship programs. These programs will include activities to mentor youth toward productivity and crime avoidance. Also, the programs will seek to steer the youth from drugs by providing educational insights on the dangers of drugs.
